Importing Graphics
To import graphics, open the main menu and select Import. Then choose the source. Photos lets you import from your photo collection. The Camera option lets you take a picture using your device camera. You can also import a graphic file using the File option. The app supports SVG, TIFF, PNG, JPEG, PDF, HEIC and AI formats.
Raster graphic files that you import appear in your document as a rectangle filled with the imported image. When you import an image in a vector format such as SVG or PDF, the app works with it differently.
An imported SVG image becomes a Clipping Group. To access or edit the elements that are parts of the image, use the Layers Panel. You can also split the Clipping Group into separate objects. To do that, use the Release Clipping Mask button in the Path panel.
When you import a PDF, you can see it in your document as one object. To edit it, you have to split it into parts with help of the Expand button located in the Path panel. The object will turn into a Clipping Group. Then use the Release Clipping Mask button in the Path panel.
If you want to fill a shape with an image, open the Color panel and choose the Image tab. Then select a graphic file. Note that the Color panel does not support the SVG format.
